Previous | Next "View of hill from which most of the statues were taken. Many only partly completed. You see the arrows point to one lying on his back, not yet removed. Statues have been carved out from all the broken places seen in the hillside. Thousands of people must have been at work. Stone implements were used. All seemed to have quit work suddenly, as many incomplete statues." (Caption is from Captain Ault.)
